Check out this message I shared at church this weekend.
Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray continually
Prayer is to be a DAILY and REGULAR part of our lifestyle.
1Peter 5:7 Cast all your cares on him because he cares for you.
Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
C – CONFESSION – Confessing your sins to the Lord and confessing the promises of God over your life.
A – ASK… making our REQUESTS to God.
James 4:1-2 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
1. We are commanded to present our REQUESTS to God in EVERY situation with a promise ofPEACE.
Philippians 4:6-7 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
2. We are directed to pray to the FATHER in Jesus Name with a guarantee/promise of an ANSWER and Joy.
John 16:23-24 23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will giveyou whatever you ask in my name. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
A. We pray to the FATHER.
B. In JESUS Name.
C. A GUARANTEED answer. There are three answers: YES, NO, and WAIT.
1John 5:14-15 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
D. A promise of JOY.
EVERYDAY, Get alone with God and spend time CONFESSING and ASKING.
