Your Story

I have been overweight my whole life, and have struggled with eating disorders. Through Justin’s story, I realized what my real problem was. He inspired me, because if he can lose so much weight in a healthy and proper manner, than I can do it also!


Justin’s story has touched me so deeply. He inspires me to be a better person everyday and to fight for my own health!


I have always been a little heavier, and as I’m trying to lose weight, when I get tired, I think of what Justin went through.


I have been struggling to lose 25 more pounds. But when I look at Justin, and everything he has been through, I think, “If Justin can come so far, I can do it!”


Justin’s story has helped a LOT of people.

    I’ve lost about 120 over the last couple of years and I’m struggling with the last 30. Reading Justin’s story makes me *believe* that I can finish what I started. Thank you!

    I am 39 years old and in the worst health of my life. I currently weigh around 550 pounds with back & leg problems. But this website and Justin’s testimony proves that it can be done! God bless……………..Ty

      wanted to wish you luck on your journey..I’m in the same vote but if Justin can do this so can we..I’m 42 and weigh in the 400’s with the same back issues and leg issues but anyway enough about that.Lets put this behind us and take it one day at a time.Good luck

    I have struggled with obesity for 30+ years. I have lost and regained more than I care to remember. Now iam at a point where despite giving up sweets, and exercising 30 min a day 5 days a week, the weight wont come off. Iam not giving up but its hard to stay motivated after being stuck for 9 months (I lost 20 in the first 2 months).

      I think your body get used to the routine. Perhaps you must add more time to your exercise, or change the type of exercise, as well as making some changes to the diet, like increasing the intake of vegetables, not drinking sodas, and lowing or cutting off the bad carbs.

    Angels are at work ! I accidentally stumbled on the story of Justin… I’ve been struggling with trying to lose 130 lbs. being an emotional eater, I ended a relationship … And have been eating anything and everything for a year now… Yep I gained 100 lbs in almost 12 months. I am older and scared for health reasons….. However I feel motivated by Justin’s story …. Especially starting slow and being consistent ! Here goes!

    I have been overweight since I was a baby. I started a month ago at 265 pounds and I am down 15. I contemplated surgery and almost went through with it about 8 years ago but I’m so glad I didn’t do it. I know that I can do this on my own with small changes and I realize that it will take a long time but I’ll feel accomplished when I reach my goal to lose 65 pounds. I don’t ever want to wear a bikini, I just want to feel healthy for me. Thank you for inspiring people to try without taking the surgery route. I understand that everyone’s story is different but if it is possible – try.

    Justin’s story touched me for a friend who is struggling with morbid obesity also. This friend is now in a nursing home, breathing with the assistance of a ventilator with a tracheotomy. He was recently moved from his hometown in the Carolinas, to somewhere in Ohio. Justin, I sure wish you would reach out to my friend Stan Hoyle. He gets inspired, but then seems to give up when stumbling blocks seem to fall in his path. I truly believe you can make a difference. I try to be his cheerleader, but it’s hard when he has “legitimate” excuses, even though I tell him that excuses are easy to find when looking for them. I will pray that you personally read this, and reach out to him on Facebook. I don’t have the phone number to his room or I would give you that.     I became health conscience when my parents moved in with us because of their failing health. I saw them struggling with the affects of years of neglect and disbelief that diet and exercise had anything to do with your overall health. Diabetic neuropathy, lost range of motion, coronary and peripheral artery disease, zero stamina, etc., etc., These problems didn’t happen overnight, and most could have been prevented, or at least greatly restricted, if they had taken care of themselves. By watching them, I saw my own future if I didn’t change the habits they taught me.

    I went from 200 to 145lbs in about 18 months, and have kept it off for 5 years. I can’t seem to shed those last 10-15lbs to get me to my “ideal” weight. I can be a strong-willed person. I stopped smoking cold turkey 30 years ago. I gave up evening television 20 years ago. I even stopped biting my fingernails–a life long habit–last year. I have no desire for those things anymore. But I struggle constantly with sweet cravings.

    Will I ever be at peace with myself over food?

    I’ve been struggling with my weight for most of my life, especially the last 15 years.
    I’ve had high blood pressure for years, both of my knees are shot,and I have severe arthritis from my knees down to my toes. Then to top it all off, after going through some tuff personal problems as well as sudden severe lifestyle changes, my weight has gone from about 285 to 355(and still climbing).I’ve been off work for over 6-months and at age 58, I think it’s time to STOP !!!! With your help and my determination, I”PRAY TO GOD THAT I CAN GET THIS TURNED AROUND” and live to see 60 or 70, maybe even 80.

    I was recently in the ER for high blood pressure, and the nurse told me about a program she had used to lose 40 lbs (and keep it off.) It’s called Diet Evolution by Dr. Gundry. He explains how to reprogram our genetic desires (which everyone has) to eat things that are bad for us in the long run. I’ve been following the program for the past few days and have not been hungry once. Many others who have followed it have described weight losses of over 100 lbs that they have kept off, as well as improvements in cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, etc. Dr. Gundry just came out with a new book called The Plant Paradox which reflects his further research since his first book came out. I plan to read that one too, but so far I am already feeling so much better after just a few days on the Diet Evolution program. Look into for yourselves and see if it helps. I felt like I had to share because we all need to get our health under control.
