Justin-
i just read the Guidepost article and want to let you know how moved I am by your story! You have accomplished so much in such a positive way!
My son will be 17 soon and has been overweight his entire life. He currently weighs approx. 350lbs.I must say that he does stay fairly active with golf, football, and recently even tennis! The part he is unable to control is the large quantities of food he eats.
Like your parents, I don’t bring chips, soda ,or sweets in our home, but my son will eat whatever is available ( 3 to 4 sandwiches at a time) as a snack.
Many times, he is a very angry person and I know that he thinks life seems unfair.
He attended church with me only a few times while growing up.Every Sunday my daughter, husband and I go to church and my son stays home and sleeps. I never presure him in any way to go.
My hope is that you can pray for my son that he will one day choose a healthier lifestyle and feel better about himself and his life.
Again, congratulations on your success story and you truly are an inspiration. God Bless!

George,
I would be happy to give you a few pointers on how I lost weight. I also would like you to know that a food chart/exercise chart may be available very soon brought to you by justinwilloughby.com.
It all comes down to eating the right foods, and staying active. Diets.. eh.. they bore me.. haha.. I’d much rather just eat the right way and be done with it. I eat a lot of fish, egg whites, spinach, wheat bread.. and more. Exercising at least an hour 6x a week. If you would like to chat more .. please e-mail me. discipleofchrist@atlanticbb.net

Beth,
I will be praying for your son. I know God will reveal Himself in due time. I am praying your son will be sensitive to who God is. I would always be willing to chat with your son anytime. I will be releasing a DVD very soon. Maybe you could get him a copy of it. I love ya! I am praying for you and your son. God is good!
If you would like to chat more.. please e-mail me.

Hi Justin,
Have just read your story in Guideposts and WOW! Am so inspired! And not so much by your weight loss, thrilling as that is, but by your courage to go through those church doors, face your fear of people’s reactions, and find you were accepted after all… and deeply loved by the One who loves you as no limited human being possibly can (we are all in lifelong training re. love!) Interesting how, when you discover you are loved, your appearance changes!
I wanted to learn more about Open Arms Community Church which welcomed you in so looked up their website online. That is another inspiring story… to read their ‘About’ webpage and to see how they have ‘walked the talk’ when they welcomed you in with ”open arms”. I have met many people who have been as badly hurt as you, but within churches where members did not let the Lord train them and change them (probably because they did not let Him love them and you can’t give it if you don’t ‘get’ it!).
May God continue to bless you and Tonya with the love of Christ.
Love (as much as I understand of it so far!) from Ellen
PS I wanted other friends and family to read your story online at Guideposts but the link on your ‘Media Coverage’ page must have changed since you posted it. It is now:
